The 2006 season for Sun Valley Golf Club plans to be the best year ever. With one year under new ownership already complete, several new additions to the course have taken place. New carts, newly completed cart paths on the front nine, irrigation heads and valves, and new maintenance equipment are just a few of the additions. We look forward to maintaining and preserving the natural course beauty and providing an affordable fun place to play.
The golf course is in great shape as we go through the winter months. Greens were aerated last spring along with course fertilization. We have made some significant improvements in the irrigation this winter that will allow us to maintain that lush green course condition all summer long. If you haven’t played Sun Valley lately you might want to round up your friends and come out for a new game.
Course management includes PGA Professionals Kirk Porter, known for his prior work at St. Andrews Golf Course, and currently managing Bear Creek Golf Course in Wentzville. The onsite manager worked at Bear Creek two years before being promoted to Sun Valley. Greens Superintendent Jeff McBride worked at Bear Creek for 3 years.
