It only takes a few minutes to fall in love with Sam A. Baker State Park. The cool waters of the St. Francois River and Big Creek frame a wooded setting with trails that range from easy to challenging. Ancient mountains, towering trees, and fresh air are hallmarks of the park. Rustic cabins, a campground, a separate campground for equestrians, and a lodge with good country cookin’ round out the Sam A. Baker experience.

Beautiful campground on the St. Francis river with a beautiful creek running into it. Nice cabins, little general store with basic amenities and a restaurant even. Horse trails, hiking trails, swimming, fishing, floating, kayaks, etc, if you like the outdoors, you well love it here.

Went on a backpacking trip with my husband. :) Trip was very enjoyable and good views! Set up camp at the backpacking campsite - awesome campsite and river access. Good variety in trail complexity on the trails.

Beautiful place with friendly staff. Family oriented. Pretty cool program for children to earn badges learning about the wilderness. Very clear water and neat little gift shop with a restaurant.

Went here for a mission trip, and had a wonderful experience. The secluded magical trail led to this majestic swimming hole which will whisk you away to an enchanted dreamland.
