The Sanders opened up a section of the park for tours and everything took off from there! Over time, hundreds of visitors turned into many thousands annually and eventually the park expanded and opened under the name Promised Land ZOO in 1999.

I loved it here. Price was a little steep I thought but overall it was definitely a great experience. My wife and I were driving through Eagle Rock and passed one of their signs. We thought it would be a great spur of the moment date so we pulled in. There were quite a few animals to see and feed. And we were able to get some wonderful pictures through it too. If you take your time you can spend easily an hour and a half or so here.

I took my children to the Promised Land Zoo in Eagle Rock in March 2018. Almost immediately after arrival, my son (age 11) asked a male employee what the large snakes eat. He informed my son that they eat the rabbits and guinea pigs that are also on display in the building! My son was very upset with this news. We almost left at that point, but decided to stay to hopefully see some other animals to cheer him up. We enjoyed the drive through portion. My advice to the Promised Land Zoo: 1. Feed the snakes something else OR 2. Don't tell the children.

The best Zoo I have ever been. Love the fact they have the Word of God all over their location. Great friendly staff , very clean, animals are well taking care off. Love that I was able to touch the animals , I felt I was in my own Zoo.
