A walk in Graham Cave State Park is a walk through ancient history. Artifacts uncovered in Graham Cave revealed that people were living in the cave more than 10,000 years ago. To walk through the park’s 386 acres of trees, trails and streams – including the diverse and scenic Graham Caves Glades Natural Area – is to walk in the footsteps of the hunter-gatherers who lived in the area’s caves during the ancient Dalton and Archaic period. Visitors are allowed in the mouth of Graham Cave, and exhibits detail the life researchers believe early inhabitants lived. The park is a prime hiking location and its campground is perfect for get-togethers when you want to camp in a quiet place. There’s boat access to the Loutre River and all the fishing you could possibly want.
Camping
For overnight guests, basic and electric campsites are nestled in a wooded area of the park with access to hiking trails.

Picnic Areas
Pack a picnic lunch to enjoy at one of four scattered picnic areas near the boat ramp, interpretive shelter, picnic shelter, playgrounds and office. These amenities help make Graham Cave State Park an ideal family retreat.
PICNIC SHELTER
For larger gatherings, a covered shelter is reservable April through October for $40 and is available on a first-come, first-served basis during the off season. The shelter can occupy up to 80 people. There is no water or electricity available at the shelter. It is accessible to people with disabilities and has a vault toilet nearby.
PLAYGROUNDS
For the kids, playgrounds are conveniently located in the picnic area and campground.
Boating
Get easy access to the Loutre River for boating and fishing on the paved boat ramp, which is located at the south end of the park. There are no fees for the boat ramp, and avid fishermen and boaters can enjoy the river between 7 a.m. and sunset. A picnic area is also near the boat ramp for gatherings of friends or families.
The boat ramp is closed from Dec. 2 through March 15.
Fishing
Anglers can enjoy casting a line in the Loutre River for a chance at catfish and bluegill. There is no designated fishing area in the park. Fishing is allowed from 7 a.m. to sunset.
