The Alpha Players is a non-profit (501(c)(3)) community theater group residing in St. Louis County, Missouri.

History

The Alpha Players grew from the hopes and dreams of a handful of early Florissant residents who wished to bring the experience of theater to the growing suburbs of St. Louis County.  They rehearsed in local churchs (or wherever they could find space) and gave their inaugural performance of Gore Vidal's Visit to a Small Planet in 1959.  They performed at a local community center room until 1972 when the City of Florissant opened a community theatre.  In 1973, The Alpha Players' partnership with the Florissant Civic Center Theatre began as they were one of the first groups to perform in the theatre.

The group is known for quality productions that appeal to a broad base of people and for welcoming new members.

Mission

To bring quality theatrical productions to the community at affordable prices while creating opportunities for people to learn about the dramatic arts.
